FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Answers to the most common questions about depositing, the certificate, the on-chain record, and rights transfers.

Do I need special training to deposit an object?

No. Any author can register and get a certificate — professional or not.

How is a certificate different from a patent?

A certificate confirms the date and fact that an object was created and works for any kind of intellectual property. A patent grants an exclusive right to use a technical solution, but requires examination, registration, and recurring fees. See the “Technology” page for details.

What exactly gets written to the blockchain?

The object's unique fingerprint (hash) and technical metadata — the certificate identifier, timestamp, wallet address. No author name, title, or description ever reaches the blockchain. The file itself is stored separately; the hash is publicly verifiable on the blockchain explorer.

Can the record be forged or edited after the fact?

No. The record on the blockchain is immutable. Any real edit to the object creates a new record with a new hash — the previous one stays available for comparison.

How do I transfer rights to an object?

Mark the object as available for a rights transfer in your account. The platform brokers the deal between you and the recipient: it arranges the assignment, updates the ownership record on the blockchain, and takes a commission from the deal amount.

How long does depositing take?

How quickly a moderator reviews your submission depends on the plan you chose — from 12 hours to 5 days. The deposit process itself is the same for every plan.

What does the rights recipient get?

A document confirming the assignment of rights, and an updated ownership record on the blockchain: the previous certificate is marked as superseded, and a new one is issued to the recipient.

Does a certificate replace official patent registration?

No, not where the law requires a patent specifically — for example, for the exclusive use of a technical solution. A certificate is independent, fast proof of authorship and creation date that can be presented before, instead of, or alongside patent protection.

Who can check whether a certificate is genuine?

Anyone. Enter the certificate code on the “Certificate verification” page, or the contract address and token number on the blockchain explorer, and see a record independent of the platform.

Can a deposited object be withdrawn?

Yes. Withdrawing removes the material from publication and deletes private data, but doesn't undo the fact itself: that the object was deposited on a given date remains verifiable.
